Every job done properly, for homes across Redditch and Worcestershire. If your job isn't listed, ask anyway.
One missing tile is a small job. Left through a winter it becomes wet insulation, stained ceilings and rotten battens. We handle the repairs that don't need a full roofing contractor, and we'll tell you straight when a job is bigger than that.
Chimneys take the worst of the weather and the mortar goes first. Once it's crumbling, water gets into the brickwork, freezes, and the stack starts to shed bricks and pots. We rake out the failed joints and repoint with a mortar suited to the age of the brick, so the chimney is weatherproof again.
Blocked gutters are one of the most common causes of damp in UK homes, and one of the cheapest things to put right. We clear the gutters and downpipes by hand, check the water is running to the outlets, and let you know about any joints or brackets that need attention.
Cracked ceilings, blown plaster, holes left by old fittings, or walls that have been patched so many times they'll never paint well. We repair what can be repaired and skim what can't, leaving a flat, sound surface that's ready to decorate once it's dried out.
Good decorating is mostly preparation. We fill, sand and prime before a brush goes near a wall, and we use trade-quality paint that lasts. Ideal for refreshing a rental between tenants, tidying up a house before it goes on the market, or just getting a room done that's been on the list too long.
Kitchen splashbacks, bathroom walls, shower enclosures and floors. We prepare the surface properly first, because tiles are only ever as good as what's behind them, then set out the run so cuts land where they're least noticed. Finished with a clean, even grout and sealed edges where water will reach.
The finishing carpentry that makes a room look done. We measure up, cut tight and fit neatly, so joints are clean and gaps are minimal, leaving woodwork ready for painting. It pairs well with our plastering and decorating, so one team can take a room from bare walls to finished.
Moss holds water against the roof, lifts tiles as it grows, and drops into the gutters in clumps every time it rains. We remove it the slow way: on the roof with scrapers and brushes, working tile by tile, then brushing the surface clean and clearing what's come down.
We don't use a pressure washer, and we'd advise against letting anyone else use one on your roof. High-pressure water strips the protective surface from the tiles, forces water under them into the loft, and loosens ridge and verge mortar. The roof looks clean for a few weeks and then moss returns faster on the newly porous surface. Hand scraping takes longer and costs a little more, but the roof is left in better condition than we found it, not worse.
Keeps the roof clean for longer
Scraping removes the moss you can see. The spores and roots left in the surface of the tile are what bring it back. After clearing, we apply a professional biocide that kills the remaining growth and keeps the surface hostile to moss, algae and lichen for years rather than months.
The treatment is sprayed on at low pressure, doesn't need rinsing, and works over the following weeks as the weather does the rest. It can also be applied on its own to a roof that's only just starting to green up.
